The best tobacco is harvested in the Vueltabajo, between Río Hondo and Cuyaguateje, especially that obtained from the vegas of San Juan y Martínez, San Luis, Pinar del Río and Guane. Among the places famous for the quality of their tobacco is the Hoyo de Monterrey, at the entrance of the town of San Juan y Martinez, Vegas Robaina, located on the farm El Pinar, in the area of Barbacoa, municipality San Luis, as an example of exclusivity that keep our cigars, to be harvested here, the highest quality layer of our country.

The vega Quemado del Rubí, by the renowned Habano Man Héctor Luis Prieto, shows a farm made up of the veguero house, a tobacco house and plots of land dedicated to cultivation. All this complemented with agro-tourism services: family restaurant, traditional cuisine, dormitory cabin, rancho varaentierra, humidor and cowhouse, as part of the authentic and emblematic tourist product La Ruta del Tabaco.

The Palenque of the Cimarrones orJosé Miguel Caveis located next to the Sierra de Viñales: the underground access to the restaurant, recreated by circular caneyes that represent a deity of the Yoruba pantheon, identified by the colors and culture of the African slaves and their Gods, makes the visitor transport himself, imaginatively, to another time and culture.

It is an underground cavity in the San Vicente Valley, worldwide known as Cueva del Indio. Discovered more than 90 years ago, it is like entering a millennial passageway, full of secondary formations, through a gallery, until arriving at the pier to navigate the subsoil by boat, through the waters of Zacarías river, showing an impressive cavern show.

The trip to Viñales region imposes the unique experience of making an incursion into the Great Cavern of Santo Tomás, as the largest in Cuba and the second largest in Latin America. Inside, a large number of fossil remains have been discovered, with an age of around two million years.
